Short version: I collect very little, I don't sell anything to anyone, and what you share in a session stays between us. The longer version is below, written to be read rather than to protect me.
I have never sold, rented, or traded anyone's information, and I never will. Not your email, not your phone number, not anything you told me in a session. There is no circumstance in which that becomes a revenue stream for this practice.
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It tells me things like how many people visited this week, which pages they spent time on, and roughly what part of the world they came from. It does not tell me who you are.
This site uses the Meta pixel, which lets me see whether an advertisement led someone here and lets Meta show my ads to people with similar interests. If you'd rather not be tracked this way, you can turn off ad personalization in your Facebook or Instagram settings, use a browser that blocks trackers, or install an ad blocker — all of which work on this site.
As well as which pages you visit, these tools record a few specific actions: tapping a text, call, or email link; following a link that leaves this site; and submitting the retreat or training inquiry forms. What's recorded is that the action happened and which page it happened on — not what you typed. The contents of a form you submit go to me by email, not to Google or Meta.
Google and Meta each handle the data they collect under their own privacy policies, which I don't control.
The intake form, the session waiver, the teacher agreement, the SOAC waiver, and the form menu carry no analytics and no advertising pixel. Not a reduced amount — none.
Those pages are where someone types their health history, describes what brought them to this work, and signs their name. Loading an advertising tracker onto a page like that would be legal and would still be wrong, so I don't.
When you fill in a form on this site, it goes to me through Netlify, the service that hosts this website. I receive it by email and it is stored in my account there. Depending on the form, that might include your name, email, phone, emergency contact, what brought you here, and relevant health information.
I use that information to prepare for our work together and to reply to you. That's all. It doesn't go into an advertising audience, it isn't shared with other practitioners, and it isn't used to market anything to you beyond replying to what you asked.
If you subscribe, your email is held by Substack and used to send you what you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and using it takes you off the list immediately and permanently.
What you tell me in a session stays with me. I don't discuss clients with other clients, with other practitioners, or in any public or online setting. Your experience is not material for teaching, writing, or marketing, and I will not use any part of it as an example or testimonial without asking you first and receiving a clear yes.
Because I am not a licensed mental health professional, our conversations aren't protected by legal privilege the way they would be with a licensed therapist. That's a fact about how the law is written, not a description of how I work. I keep confidence because it's right, not because a statute requires it.
There are narrow situations where the law requires disclosure — where a child, elder, or vulnerable adult appears to be at risk of abuse or neglect; where someone presents a serious and imminent danger to themselves or another identifiable person; or where a court compels it. In those cases I disclose only what is necessary, and I'll tell you what and why wherever it's safe and lawful to do so.
Client records and signed waivers are kept for as long as I may reasonably need them, and stored securely. Form submissions and email correspondence are kept while they're relevant to our work.
You can ask me at any time what I hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just ask — you don't need a reason and there's no process to go through. Where something must be retained for legal reasons, I'll tell you plainly which part and why.
This website is not directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through it. Where a minor receives sessions, a parent or guardian completes and signs the paperwork.
Ask me directly. Text or call (406) 285-8810, or email thebodyofwisdom@gmail.com. A real person reads it — there's no privacy department here, just me.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, I'll update the date below.
