The Body of Wisdom
Trainings & Events

Serious training, brought here.

Practitioners in this corner of the world usually have to travel a long way for advanced training. I'd rather bring the teachers here. What follows is what's confirmed — four-day intensives with people whose work I trust, held in Sandpoint.

Visceral Manipulation · Module 2 of 4

Lower Abdominal Organs

with Jeffrey Burch

Module 2 continues the four-part series with the lower abdominal organs. The work moves through a detailed tour of each organ's anatomy — its glide planes and the suspensory structures that anchor it to the musculoskeletal frame — with enough embryology to make sense of why the body is arranged the way it is. From there you learn techniques to restore glide, restore the span of the suspensory tissue, and restore each organ's motility.

Burch is a Certified Advanced Rolfer who completed the apprenticeship to teach Barral visceral manipulation, and has trained in three schools of cranial work. He teaches this material with a precision that rewards patient hands.

Immersion

Ancestral Healing Immersion

with Larisa Noonan & Michele Godrie

An evening plus three full days of ritual work to bring healing to one of your ancestral lines, following the lineage repair method developed by Dr. Daniel Foor. Thursday evening lays the groundwork — embodiment, nervous system tracking, and the boundary skills this work requires. Friday you assess the health of each of your lines, choose one to focus on, and meet an ancestral guide. Saturday and Sunday you work with that guide to carry healing forward through the lineage, from the most ancient dead through to the living, including yourself.

The premise is simple and far-reaching: as the pain and stuck patterns in a lineage transform, the pain and stuck patterns in a life have room to transform too. Held in an inclusive, non-dogmatic, trauma-aware container. People of diverse ancestries welcome. Larisa is an animist, ritualist, and certified ancestral lineage healing practitioner based here in Sandpoint, with nearly two decades of work in trauma healing, embodiment, and boundaries. She teaches this one alongside Michele Godrie, a healing ritualist and spiritual coach.

Visceral Manipulation · Module 3 of 4

Pelvic Organs

with Jeffrey Burch

Module 3 turns to the pelvic organs and the ligamentous system that suspends them between the pelvic bones and the sacrum. Asymmetrical tension through these structures shows up as pelvic and sacral misalignment, which makes this material immediately useful for anyone working with low back, hip, or pelvic complaints that don't resolve with structural work alone.

As with each module: organ-by-organ anatomy, the embryology behind it, and hands-on technique for restoring glide, span, and motility.

Visceral Manipulation · Module 4 of 4

Thoracic Organs

with Jeffrey Burch

The final module covers the thoracic organs — the heart and its pericardium, the lungs and their pleura, and the mediastinal structures that connect them to the spine, sternum, and ribs. Strain patterns here are often laid down by whiplash and impact injury and surface later as stubborn low cervical and upper thoracic pain that resists direct work.

Completing Module 4 closes the four-part series and gives you the whole visceral map rather than a region of it.

Insight Craniosacral · Level 1

Insight Craniosacral 1: Foundations

with David Kaminker

Insight Craniosacral is a trauma-informed approach to craniosacral therapy that braids together the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), mindfulness-based self-inquiry, and Visionary Craniosacral Work. Foundations is where the method starts.

Foundations covers a variation of the classical craniosacral protocol first taught by William Sutherland, paired with a communication model drawn from NARM and mindfulness practice. You'll work through the anatomy a skillful practitioner actually needs — cranial anatomy, the reciprocal tension membrane system, cerebrospinal fluid, and the sacrum — alongside the touch and dialogue skills that make trauma-sensitive work possible.

David is a licensed acupuncturist and NARM Informed Professional whose teaching emphasizes restoring self-agency, cultivating safety, and establishing consent inside the therapeutic relationship.

Coming from out of town? We can usually house you.

For most trainings we can accommodate people onsite in a rustic, bunkhouse-style setting — simple accommodations, but considerably more cost-effective than anything else in town, and you're already where the training is when the morning starts.

How the cost works: lodging is a single flat rate that covers the whole run of the training, not a nightly rate. We reserve the bunkhouse for the full stretch of dates whether or not every bed is used every night, so the flat rate is what covers that. You're welcome to stay every night or only some of them — the price is the same either way, and it's still well below what a room in town would run you for the same stretch. Ask me and I'll tell you the flat rate for the training you're attending.

Lodging is arranged through The Body of Wisdom, not through the teachers. Jeffrey, Larisa, and David handle their own registration and don't coordinate housing, so please don't ask them — come to me directly and I'll tell you what's available for your dates.

More is coming — check back.

Dates for the Embodied Practitioner Series are being scheduled now, and more visiting teachers are in conversation. This page is where they'll land first.

The series is my own five-module training in energetics, psyche, body, and practice — the one I teach rather than host. Different from the visiting-teacher intensives above, and worth a look if you're building a practice rather than adding a technique to one.

If you'd rather not keep checking, the newsletter below is the low-effort version — new dates go out there before they go anywhere else.

Two Open Invitations

This works both directions.

Most of what ends up on this page started as somebody asking. If you're on either side of that, I'd like to hear from you.

You teach, and you're looking for a place to do it.

If you're a teacher with a body of work worth bringing to the Inland Northwest, let's talk. We have the space, the venue relationships, and a growing community of practitioners who show up hungry for good training. You'd be teaching to people who take this seriously.

Propose a Training

There's a teacher you want to study with.

If there's someone whose work you've been wanting to learn and you'd have to fly across the country to do it, tell me who. I can't promise anything, but I can reach out — and enough people asking for the same teacher is exactly the kind of thing that makes a training happen.
